Hey, I would like to say it feels great to be back in New Orleans.  Arthur Ashe is a great school to be at.  I am happy for the work I done today at Arthur Ashe.  Today was sure a hot day in New Orleans.  Now I am excited for a great dinner tonight.

A 6th Summer helping schools in NOLA

Once again, volunteers from the Chicagoland area are helping to prepare schools in New Orleans. 37 pre-service, in-service and retired University Professors will join with supporters of NOLA Schools Project to set-up classrooms and build a library, preparing the schools for Fall 2012 opening. The team leaving July 29 will be assisting the move from an older school into the new Arthur Ashe Elementary building in Gentilly. This is a completely Leeds Certified green school. The August 5 team will continue the work from last summer and build a library at Harriet Tubman School in Algiers. This summer, the teams are sponsored by Partnerships in Education, a new 501(c)3 association that focuses its service on schools in need. PIE looks forward to branching out to other communities around the US. But meanwhile, our commitment to the schools in NOLA are, and will always be, dear to our hearts.
